Library and Technology Resources
The Library and Technology Resources program is one of the League’s most valued services. Established over 20 years ago in collaboration with the Council of Chief Librarians, this initiative has consistently delivered exceptional value to our community colleges.
The program provides access to extensive research databases and essential online resources for all 116 of our colleges, as well as services to numerous out-of-state two-year college members. By leveraging economies of scale, it offers significant cost savings on over 1,000 databases spanning nearly every discipline. These resources are vital for students, faculty, and community members, ensuring access to high-quality information through college libraries and educational centers. In recent years, the program has significantly expanded its offerings to include advanced technology resources, such as plagiarism detection, AI analysis tools, and other digital software solutions.
In 2020, Library and Technology Resources, in collaboration with the Council of Chief Librarians, assumed management of the Library Services Platform (LSP) program. The LSP program exemplifies an innovative, system-wide technology platform coupled with a collaborative operational model. This initiative enhances the ability of California Community College libraries to efficiently manage and deliver modern digital information resources. By fostering system- wide cooperation, the program strengthens student success while supporting more dynamic and effective teaching and learning environments.
