The CEO leadership Academy is an outstanding program designed to help New CEOs in the California Community college system. As the newly appointed Superintendent/President at Imperial Valley College, I really enjoyed the teaching regarding board relations and budget management. It is essential in this role and can prevent mistakes that could impugn relationships or your reputation. The academy also allows CEOs to establish a network of colleagues who will prove invaluable during their tenure as CEO.

The 2021 Aspiring CEO Program was especially impactful for me. I was lucky to be accepted into the program during a time of uncertainty. The program allowed me to grow as a professional, gain confidence as a leader and build strong networks.

Participating in the Aspiring CEO Program provided a strong foundation for me as I made application for President searches. The training, exercises, and networking offered through this program not only got me started, but also provided continual support as I journeyed through application to interviews and to the final offer.
