General Info

Welcome to the 2020 Annual Trustees Conference. Trustees are leaders when they promote and sustain their colleges’ missions to assure student learning and make a difference for their communities. They are responsible for anticipating and responding to new challenges related to environmental and architectural sustainability, leadership turnover, accountability, and changing communities. Effective governing boards ensure that their colleges continue to provide high quality education and service.

Effective governing boards are created by dedicated, knowledgeable trustees and chief executives. Your participation in the 2020 Trustees Conference will strengthen the skills and knowledge required to lead your colleges and be accountable to your communities. Conference speakers and sessions will explore student success, fiscal responsibility, educational trends and effective trusteeship.

Guest Room Reservations
All guest room reservations made within the group block at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, will be automatically cancelled and will be issued an email cancellation in the coming weeks.  If you happened to make a reservation outside of the group block, with a third party or at another property, you will have to call them directly and cancel your guest room reservations.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the negotiated rate of $219.00 plus tax, single or double occupancy. Reservations must be made on or before Monday, April 6, 2020.  Please make your reservation online using the reservations link provided on your Trustees Conference registration confirmation form.

Hotel Reservation Cancellation Policy

A one-night deposit of $219 will be charged at the time the reservation is made. It will be refundable until Monday, March 30th. After Monday, March 30th, the deposit is non-refundable. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please be sure to do so BEFORE Monday, March 30th. In the event of a “sold-out” situation, anyone unable to get a reservation should check back with the hotel after Monday, March 30th, and before Monday, April 6th. Rooms may become available following the deposit date of April 1st.

Registration Refunds

All Annual Trustee Conference registration fees will be fully refunded back to the credit card used to at the time of registration. Due to the high number of canceled events, as well as the number of attendees registered for this event, please expect to see the credit to be applied in approximately 4 to 5 weeks. If you have any questions regarding your refund(s), please email Sadie Brown at sadie@ccleague.org.

Early-Bird General Registration - $845  (After April 1st, the registration rate will increase to $870)
Fee includes all breakfasts, lunches, and receptions. Dinner is on your own Friday and Saturday evenings.

Special CEO Rate - $775 (For CEOs Only)
The District Superintendent/President or Chancellor who attends with two or more trustees from their board is eligible for the special CEO registration rate. Email Sadie Brown at sadie@ccleague.org to receive the special discount code.

Registration Cancellation Policy

All refund requests must be made in writing. To request a refund for your registration email Sadie Brown at sadie@ccleague.org. A $50 processing fee will be charged for all refunds. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after Friday, April 17, 2020.

Annual Executive Assistants Workshop (EAW)
Thursday, April 30 - Friday, May 1

EAW Registration Cost: $335
(Separate registration required)

The annual Executive Assistants Workshop (EAW) begins at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (registration opens at 12:00 p.m.) and ends at 5:00 on Friday. All executive assistants who assist governing boards and chief executive officers are invited to attend. Separate registration is required via the League's website. Participants in this workshop are invited to attend the rest of the Trustees Conference. Those who wish to do so may register and pay only for meals (use the guest meal rate on the Trustees Conference registration form). 


Registration Cancellation Policy

Annual Business Meeting of California Community College Trustees 

Sunday, May 3, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (light breakfast at 8:00 a.m.)
The annual meeting of the California Community College Trustees includes the election of the CCCT officers for 2020-2021 the annual report of the work of the association, introduction of newly elected board members, and an opportunity to provide direction to the CCCT board on major issues facing local boards and their districts.

The League annually recognizes the enduring dedication and service of California's community college trustees with the Fulfilling the Trust Award. This year we honor the following trustees who have achieved two or more decades of service at a California community college:

Due to event cancellation, award winners will be mailed their awards. 

The League will mail all awards to the trustees being recognized for this year’s Fulfilling the Trust Award. The awards will be sent to district Offices, though if you would like it to be sent elsewhere, please email Sadie Brown at sadie@ccleague.org and provide your preferred mailing address. Awards will be sent by mid-May.
