Community College League of California Congratulates Eloy Ortiz Oakley on Selection as Chancellor of the California Community Colleges

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Community College League of California (League) congratulates Eloy Ortiz Oakley on his selection as chancellor of the California Community Colleges and would like to thank the California Community Colleges Board of Governors for their time and effort during this process.

“Congratulations to Chancellor Oakley on his selection to this important statewide role leading the largest public higher education enterprise in the U.S.,” said League President and CEO Larry Galizio. “We at the League look forward to working collaboratively with Chancellor Oakley and his entire staff to advance student success and to support the comprehensive mission of our 113 community colleges.”

Oakley is currently serving as Superintendent-President of the Long Beach Community College District and previously worked with the League as a member of the Commission on the Future (COTF). His involvement with COTF culminated with a published report of recommendations to increase completions in community colleges.
