Policy & Procedure Services
Board Policy & Administrative Procedure Service
Offered in partnership with the law firm of LIEBERT CASSIDY WHITMORE
Services and Benefits
The Board Policy and Administrative Procedure Service is provided to subscribing districts by the Community College League of California, in partnership with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, a California law corporation. Sixty-seven districts subscribe to the Service, which includes the following services:
þ Board Policy and Administrative Procedure Templates
Policy and procedures samples that are legally required, legally advised, or suggested as good practice for boards and districts. Manuals are provided to subscribing districts in binder form and are available on the web.
Every six months (in February and August) districts receive updates to assist them in ensuring their board policies and administrative procedures are current. The updates are posted on the Subscribers Website.
þ Implementation Handbook
The Implementation Handbook, updated in 2012, is based on surveys and discussions on how subscribing districts are implementing the service, and provides advice and strategies for using the sample policies and procedures.
þ Subscribers Workshops
The League sponsors two statewide subscribers workshops a year, one in November and one in May, that provide an opportunity to explore implementation strategies, discuss updates, and raise questions about the policies and procedures. Notes from the workshops are posted on the Subscribers’ Web site (sign in above).
þ District Workshops
Contact Jane Wright, the League’s Special Consultant for the Policy and Procedure Service, at email@example.com to conduct workshops for trustees and/or college staff about the service, the templates, and possible implementation strategies.
þ Policy Development Assistance
For an additional cost, the League will provide a consultant who will help a district update and customize their policy and procedure manuals, using the Service’s samples.
Contact Kimi Shigetani, firstname.lastname@example.org or (916) 444-8641, for information about the service.
