Sample Agenda

Presentations: (in pdf)

Now more than ever, what happens in Sacramento affects you and your campus. It is crucial you learn the tools necessary to make the views of your campus heard to the state legislature. The Community College League of California and the Community College Public Relations Organization are thrilled to announce we will be hosting a series of advocacy trainings at campuses throughout the state.

These one-day events are designed to introduce you to the legislative process, discuss ways you and your campus can interact with legislators and provide some hands on training. Trustees, CEOs, PIOs and others who are interested in making their campus a better place are encouraged to attend.

Community colleges have taken significant steps to set up a stronger infastructure to increase access and promote student success, and more work is in the pipeline. That is where your role as a community college advocate comes in.  Participate in key sessions to support your important work, including:

  • The State of Community Colleges
  • California's Budget Process
  • Other Duties As Assigned - Advocacy is Everyone's Job
  • Advocacy and Engagement Strategies
